The electric drive system features a 150 kW induction motor in the front and a 210 kW permanent magnet motor at the rear, making high performance, better safety and redundancy a reality. It continuously distributes power for different driving scenarios. In addition, the permanent magnet motor uses the SiC power module to reduce both energy consumption and noise.

The ultrahigh-strength steel-aluminum hybrid body is designed under the C-NCAP and Euro NCAP 5-star standards. The integral cast rear floor has reduced its mass by 30% while increasing the trunk space by 7 liters. The NIO ET5 boasts an excellent torsional stiffness of 34,000 N·m/degree.
The front suspension with a virtual kingpin axis realizes a compact layout while curbing the unbalanced torque output during sudden acceleration and deceleration.
